Welcome! Although cataract surgery is one of the most common surgeries performed in the United States each year, we care about each individual patient having a safe, comfortable, and positive experience. We want to partner with you to achieve this goal.
The first step is to determine if you are ready for cataract surgery. Many patients have cataracts, but the decision to proceed with surgery is dependent on whether that cataract is impacting their daily visual function. If you are finding that you are having trouble driving at night, reading in low light, doing computer work or other visual activities, it may be appropriate to proceed with cataract surgery.
The optometrists at Arbor Eyecare are the first step and can provide a comprehensive medical eye exam to determine if you meet the medical necessity criteria to proceed with surgery and if there are other eye conditions impacting the quality of your vision.
The next step is a pre-surgical consultation with Dr. Rebecca Dale. At this visit we will take multiple measurements of your eyes, examine your eyes with a dilated eye exam, and discuss how you will take care of your eyes before and after surgery.
At this visit, Dr. Dale will also discuss how you use your eyes now and planning what you want your vision to be after cataract surgery. There are a variety of intra-ocular lenses available which can change the focus of your eyes and reduce your dependence on glasses.
We feel that the best experience and outcomes occur when patients are well-educated about what to expect before, during, and after surgery. Click the button below and our surgical coordinator will reach out to provide a packet of information, answer questions and schedule your consultation if you are ready to proceed.
