Dr. Elizabeth Stern-Green is originally from Alexandria, Virginia near DC (the other Washington). She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Sociology. While at UVA, she was a member
of the varsity field hockey team and won an ACC championship in 2016. Dr. Stern-Green earned her doctorate of optometry at The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she graduated summa cum laude. While in optometry school, Dr. Stern-Green also earned
her Master’s degree in Vision Science from Ohio State. Her Master’s thesis studied the structural changes to the retina as a result of multiple concussions. As a part of her research Dr. Stern-Green has spoken at and presented posters at national conferences.
Dr. Stern-Green’s extern rotations were at NorthEast Ohio Eye Surgeons in Kent, Ohio; Hampton VAMC in Hampton, VA; and The Ohio State College of Optometry in Columbus, Ohio.



Dr. Stern-Green completed an ocular disease residency at the Louis Stokes VAMC in Cleveland, Ohio. Here, she gained in-depth experience in ocular disease. She also had specialty rotations in medically indicated contact lenses, emergency exams, bedside exams,
low vision, dry eye disease, and retinal disease where she worked side-by-side with a renowned retinal specialist.



Dr. Stern-Green is new to the area with her boyfriend who is also an Optometrist in Bellevue. She is looking forward to exploring this beautiful area and would love to know any tips on great hikes, places to paddle board, or other uniquely Washington things
to do.


Patient Philosophy: "My favorite utilization of the exam room is as a classroom. I love eyes and even more I love educating people about eyes. My goal is to instill in my patients a comprehensive understanding of their eyes and conditions to empower them to understand and ultimately have a sense of agency in their eyecare. The best compliment someone can pay me is “wow, thank you for explaining that so well!” I did a residency in ocular disease to feel like I have the confidence and skillset to tackle whatever walks in the door. I hope my patients can sense that as well, so we can build a relationship of trust as we work together."
