When a patient has cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange, the natural lens is removed from a thin, clear membrane sac within the eye and the new lens is placed back in that sac. Over time the membrane sac can develop wrinkling, cloudiness or haziness than can affect the quality of vision. The solution is using a laser to create a small opening – a clear window – within the cloudy area to restore clear vision.
The laser procedure is quick and painless, usually taking just a minute or two. Dr. Dale performs the yag capsulotomy procedure at Eastside Surgery Center in Issaquah. If you’ve noticed a decrease in the quality of your vision since either cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange, the first step is scheduling a visit with any of our doctors for a dilated eye exam to pinpoint the reason for changes in your vision
